I am a highly experienced dramaturg. I have been a freelance script reader for Playwrights' Studio Scotland since 2011. I have developed 63 new plays for production for the Theatre in the Rough Festival. And I am formerly the Literary Manager for Liverpool Lunchtime Theatre/The New Works. I have also worked as a writer and 'outside eye' for Tmesis Theatre for nine years.

I like to be sensitive to the needs of individuals, as everybody is writing in a different way and for different reasons. I don't recognise a one-size-fits-all approach. I am especially keen on working with younger and emerging creatives.

I can offer:
• One-to-one support over a coffee
• Written feedback reports on scripts
• Consultation services in a devising process
• Consultation services at the outset of a scripted or devising project

One-on-one meeting (Liverpool, North Sefton, West Lancs only): £75
Written feedback report: £40
Consultation services for projects: £150 day rate

I'm happy to negotiate a rate depending on what you might need.

Project Management / Consultation

I currently programme and project manage the annual Heritage on the Dock festival at Royal Albert Dock Liverpool — the most visited free attraction outside London. This involves curating a programme of family-friendly events with prominent stakeholders such as Tate Liverpool, National Museums Liverpool, Peel Ports, and many other local organisations and communities. I have played a role in devising the festival's development between 2015 and the present, with a 29% uplift in visitor numbers in the last year alone.

I have also devised and project managed from concept to realisation eight productions and festivals for the Theatre in the Rough Festival. These have focused on arts and local heritage, bringing together communities and creatives with major stakeholders including Merseytravel, Liverpool John Moores University, Sefton MBC and more. Projects have been produced at community venues as well as at capital venues including Unity Theatre Liverpool, Merseyside Maritime Museum, and The Atkinson.

I have authored successful funding applications, notably to the Heritage Lottery Fund and Arts Council England, as well as to smaller funders such as the PH Holt Foundation and the Unity Theatre Trust. I have also written evaluation reports for funders all the aforementioned funding bodies.

I can offer:
• Arts and Heritage Programming
• Arts and Heritage Project Management
• Consultation services for all arts and heritage projects, including planning, funding, programming, operations, evaluation

I have written plays for some of the UK's leading companies, including Tmesis Theatre, Fuel Theatre, Slung Low and China Plate. My work has been seen in leading venues such as the Liverpool Everyman, Manchester Royal Exchange and the Stephen Joseph Theatre, as well as in New York and California.

I have also written for Channel 4 and BBC Radio, and am published by Nick Hern Books, Lancaster Litfest and openDemocracy.

I'm happy to discuss any prospective writing opportunities.
